Just Pondering Over Groups~

_{I'm not usually chit chatty or one to share my thoughts, but I feel like doing that today. It's a rather nice day out and all, and I'll most likely head downstairs and water the garden later this afternoon.

So I've been noticing that dang, I really love pokémon gijinkas. I mean seriously, if you take a look at my gallery, a good chunk of my art is gijinkas. I'll admit, a lot of them are blue colored pkmn... I'm a blue and pink lover ♥ (Libra zodiac colors, whoo!) When I joined dA about 2 years back? I ended up catching wind of a new pokemon gijinka group through some well known artist that was called #PokePlatform : and to this day I am still a part of that group. Now I had drawn gijinkas and anthros of pokemon before offline, but I wasn't aware that there were such things as groups here! Or even chatrooms! That just like, blew me away back in the day. Haha. Anyhow, PP was my first ever group I joined here on dA, and Reine the Nidoqueen (former character for the group) was my first ever official pkmn gijinka I had made that actually... grew into something quite more over time. She became very developed personality and history wise. I made friends and enemies alike in this group, and overall it taught me how to be a little less shy online. I still adore and love the group with all my heart, and I want to help it and stay with it until the day it dies... though I can hope I never have to really see that day. I can dream. :'D

Over time I ended up expanding out to other groups that caught my fancy; and I just don't join groups willy nilly like some people. I really look into it and consider if I like the idea, concept, and if I'll be active for the most part. Well, try to be. If it doesn't catch my interest, I just don't join. I've had people surprisingly (it's a surprise to me, lol) ask me to join groups that they're a part of, or creating, but I respectfully decline and wish them luck if it just isn't my sort of thing. Other than that I've tried to help those who asked for it in other groups when i could. I can't say I'm the most experienced person out there when it comes to modding, but I do feel I know a right from wrong, and try my best to enforce the rules that the group has made. Sometimes I feel I'm a little too uh... what's the word... I guess strict and bitchy? Usually I think it's for the best if I am when it comes to group/mod work so people don't think they can trample and take advantage of me just because I can "be nice." I can be nice and understanding, heck I try to be for the most part, but when it comes to rules or people not bothering to read I turn into someone I don't think you'd like very much. I take rules and reading comprehension seriously, surprisingly, despite me disliking major authorities. If you don't understand something, sure feel free to ask and I'll try to help! But if you're just asking really... I guess for the lack of a better word, stupid questions (they say there is no such thing as those, but I beg to differ) that can be answered/found right there in front of your nose, I'm most likely going to ignore it or tell you to go read... |D; _{_{Doesthatmakemeabadperson?}}

I didn't really think I'd go on to eventually create my own group #PKMN-Crossing, which, by the way, I feel is doing wonderfully~ I have to thank the people who saw me post my ideas about it in a journal earlier last year, and so many people seemed to actually enjoy the idea of a Animal Crossing x Pokémon group! If it wasn't for you guys actually telling me to go through with it and do it with your encouraging words, I probably wouldn't have done it at all and it'd still just be a longing idea in my head... the people who have helped me and still help me, thank you so much. It's a bit bumpy here and there, but it happens in every group I feel. People are all different, we agree to some things, and disagree to others. In the end if we can all get along and make things work, great things can happen that helps other people as well! I've seen so many artists in PKMC blossom and bloom, grow into better artists in the past 10 months it's existed. I see improving art in the group inbox everyday, and it really makes me think that "wow, I'm actually helping people in small ways through an online group. WhatisthisIdon'teven..." I don't think myself as a very social or helpful person. Though I wish I could be more social and less shy and clammed up, I still can't really believe by making this group, I'm watching it's members grow more and more. They're making friends, chatting, expanding their ideas and characters through roleplaying, drawing, teaming up to make fantastic things, showing what they got! Heck, a lot of our gamer members even have gone so far to create a MineCraft server that they're modeling right after the group's town! Even going so far as to make skins of their characters for their players!! It's amazing, beautiful what they can all do... I'm really thankful for it all. Despite all the ups and downs, a few bad apples here and there, it's all worth it. I wouldn't ever want to close the group just because someone is spitting venom at it all in their rage or envy. This group and idea is my baby in a sense. The members, even if I know them well or not, are people I enjoy having in PKMC and thank for helping this group to grow and be awesome! Despite PKMC being a great success in my eyes, I've thought about making another sort of group as well. While I adore PKMC and it's simplicity, these are anthro pkmn characters. I love anthros, they can be adorable things! But I do love my gijinkas just as much, and I wanted to make a group based on them as well. While I know that there are tons of gijinka groups out there (some with the same sort of themes to them), I've been trying to think of ways to make the one I'd like in my head unique... after I had made PKMC, I began to play Harvest Moon games again. That's when it clicked! I wanted to create a Harvest Moon x Pokémon group; though I wasn't sure if this was an idea that people would take to as well. Despite Harvest Moon and Pokémon gijinkas always being popular things, I've seen HM groups here on dA fall flat due to the fact that well... people pair up too quick, and the idea soon becomes boring. The group then dies. Harvest Moon is about farming, raising livestock, and wooing someone to marry and start a family with. The latter seems to be the most popular for that sort of theme instead of actually working your way up in your new life. People rush into relationships very quick with their characters, seeming so desperate (in most HM groups, girl character reign supreme over guy characters in numbers), and it can soon become boring. The fun in building a relationship with other characters is taking your time, having fun, and leading up to that sort of big finish! Though with me wanting to create this group with the idea burning in my head, PKMC came first in attention: getting things settled, working out events, member issues, and so forth. I never really had the time to get around to the other idea... turns out that someone beat me to the punch and created #Harvest-Pokemoon. Which was great! I am a member there currently and it's okay. But... the thing is, while I love the group and support it, I still want to create my own mixture of the Harvest Moon theme as another group with pkmn and gijinkas. But I feel is would be an insult to the work and mods there at HPM, and it would seem like I'm ripping on their idea, which I'm not and do not want to cause conflict over. I'm currently back to square one, thinking of a different idea for a pkmn gijinka group. I've gone over and seen many themes and ideas, but I want something that's a little different... Something I and other people will enjoy too... hmmm...

Well, I just wanted to ramble out my thoughts and feelings on groups. It ended up being much longer than I thought... I'm sorry! It's not like you're obligated to read this junk! I'm just speaking out loud. It's all been on my mind a lot as of recently. Though sure, groups aren't everything here on dA and I and many others probably recognize that, they do help to bring people together in many different ways and help to open up potential in different ways too. c:}
